CMREN-FSU Data Summit

ree

CMREN hosted the first annual SUD Data Summit on the campus of Ferris State University on November 19, 2025. The goal of this summit was to build a better recovery and wellness ecosystem through better understanding of the SUD data, data-informed interventions, and related opportunities. The summit objectives were to provide attendees with a solid understanding of the present state of data within the region and adjacent areas, to build connections amongst professionals and providers, and to stimulate collective problem-solving. Thirty people attended the summit representing a multitude of local health departments, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and Ferris State University.

In addition to networking opportunities, the agenda included data updates from the public health agencies, insight from FSU's Personal Counseling Center, and a panel discussion with experts discussing data driven solutions. The summit was successful in achieving its objectives with all attendees agreeing or strongly agreeing that their network of connections improved, they acquired greater knowledge of the data tools available, they have greater knowledge of the regional interventions, and that the summit was a good use of their time. As a result of those findings and general feedback from the attendees, CMREN will plan to host another summit with a larger audience in November of 2026.
